Insigma and Wasu Team up to Launch Cloud Service for the IDC Market in Zhejiang Province

With more and more Internet applications, cloud computing has emerged as the main symbols of the new generation of internet technology. In the next five years, cloud computing industry will embrace its prime time. It also means the urgent demand for large scale Internet Data Centers (IDC) to accommodate the rapid expansion in volume of business, amount of information and number of users. Statistics show that China's domestic IDC market value reached 10.22 billion RMB in 2010, with the compound annual growth rate of 49% in the past five years, which is much higher than the global growth rate. It has been projected that China's IDC market will continue its rapid growth in the next 2 to 3 years, boosted by the informatization in many industries such as government, finance, logistics, manufacture and energy.
Insigma, a leading IT service company backed by Zhejiang University's comprehensive technological expertise, foresaw cloud computing as a new trend in IT service and has explored innovative cloud based business models to advance its cooperate strategies for Smart City and intelligent service solutions. Recently, Insigma teamed up with Wasu (Wasu Netcom Info Port Co., Ltd.) and other business partners to fund a joint venture, Zhejiang Huatong Cloud Data Technology Co., Ltd., to develop infrastructure and platforms for cloud computing.

Wasu Netcom Info Port Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Wasu Digital TV Media Group (Wasu), is one of the largest interactive TV/IPTV and 3G mobile TV operators in China. Through years, Wasu has grown business in three sectors: broadband data communication, cable TV network and new media. Having a favorable operating environment for the development of IDC business, Wasu will bring strong business support to the Insigma-Wasu joint venture. Insigma and Wasu have maintained good business relationship for years. We are confident that the partnership will lead more future collaborations.
Starting with Wasu's existing 5,000-m2 server farm, Zhejiang Huatong Cloud Data Technology Co., Ltd. plans to apply energy efficient technologies, such as the airtight liquid cooling cabinets featuring high wind throughput with small temperature differential, liquid cooling using constant low temperature water and energy efficient servers, to build and operate a total of 38,200-m2 of IDCs by 2015. The centers include 8,000-m2 Zhuantang Data Center at Xihu District of Hangzhou, 16,000-m2 Qiandaohu Water Cooling Data Center at Chun'an County, 5,000-m2 Jiufeng Water Cooling Data Center at Jinhua City, and 4,200-m2 Jinqiao Data Center at Pudong New Area of Shanghai, and etc. The joint venture will focus on the IDC business for China's broadcast & TV industry, which is not only the access point and bridgehead for the industry to connect to the internet, but also a bridge for the internet enterprises to enter the broadcast & TV business. In addition to server farms and data centers business, the company is positioned to be
