The second stage of planting 70 thousand trees for the 70th anniversary of Grupa Kęty has just finished. The initiative has been carried out by the ARKA Ecological Foundation in cooperation with the Bielsko-Biała Forestry Department. In 2021 we planted 30 thousand beech, spruce, larch and fir trees in the forests of Grodziec, Skalite, Jaworze and Wielka Łąka. Whereas in 2022, there have been planted 20 thousand black alders and beeches in the forests of Grodziec, Bystra, Straconka and Kamienica. The final planting of 20 thousand trees is planned for 2023.
In 2023 Grupa Kęty will celebrate its 70th anniversary. We wanted to emphasise this event in such an extraordinary manner, says Monika Sobczak, Head of CSR.
Grupa Kęty S.A., as a capital group caring for the future of the next generations, has been striving to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions. One tree absorbs 6-7 kg of CO2 a year*.
The trees we have been planting are small but we hope that they will create the eco-system of forests in the Podbeskidzie Region in the coming years. In October (9 Oct. 2022) we organised a joint planting event attended by our employees and the children under the charge of the 'Grupa Kęty for the Children of the Podbeskidzie Region' Foundation.
