GE: submarine cable contract in the UK
The contract, won as part of a consortium with Greek industrial conglomerate Mytilineos, calls for the laying of a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cable to provide the electrical interconnection between the Torness nuclear power plant in Scotland and the Hawthorn Pit substation in north-east England.
The design phase is due to start in January 2024, with construction scheduled for 2025, GE Vernova states in a press release.
