Last year, Fitbit researchers analyzed aggregated and anonymous data on sleep, steps, active minutes, and resting heart rate from millions of Fitbit users to findAmerica's Fittest Cities.
This year, not only did they rerun that analysis-check out the2017 Fittest Cities in America-but they also took their research global.
Below, the Fittest Countries in the World, based on data from 23.2 million Fitbit users across the globe.*
Fitbit's 2017 Fittest Countries in the World
Congrats to Ireland, which was named the overall Fittest Country. You might be tempted to chalk it up to the luck of the Irish, but their win was based on average rates for duration of sleep, Reminders to Move goals met, daily steps, daily active minutes and resting heart rate. Below, the rest of top 10. (The United States is #28.)
