FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Deutsche Borse is including the shares of drug researcher Evotec, bottling plant manufacturer Krones, Software AG and Shop Apotheke Europe in the MDax index of mid-cap companies. As of June 19, the real estate group Aroundtown, the telecommunications provider United Internet, the wafer manufacturer Siltronic and the U.S. telecommunications equipment manufacturer Adtran will have to make way for them, as Deutsche Borse announced on Monday after the close of trading. In the Frankfurt benchmark index Dax, as expected, there are no changes.

The four MDax relegated companies will now be included in the small cap index SDax, from which the real estate company Dic Asset will be removed. Evotec was recently not listed in the larger indices due to an annual report that was not submitted on time. In addition, the company will now belong to the TecDax technology index, from which the Linux software specialist Suse will be removed.

The changes had been widely expected by experts, but recently experts no longer expected Siltronic to be relegated to the SDax - nor Shop Apotheke Europe to be promoted. In the swap between Krones and United Internet, the race was considered very close.

Index changes are particularly important for funds that replicate indices in real terms (physically replicating ETFs). There, rebalancing must then take place accordingly, which can have an impact on share prices./men
