Enel reached an agreement with trade unions in Italy to hire up to 2,000 workers through 2026 as the group plans to boost investments in grids.
The Rome-based energy company said late Wednesday that the agreement would allow it to focus on strategic assets such as the Italian energy distribution network.
Enel in November laid out a strategic plan through 2026 with around 35.8 billion euros ($38.31 billion) in total gross capital expenditure. Approximately EUR18.6 billion will be allocated toward grids and more than EUR12 billion toward renewables.
