ElvalHalcor has actively participated in the discussion about the developments in the Raw Materials industry, supporting as a sponsor the 8th Greek Raw Materials Community Dialogue. The event took place on November 9th, as part of the activities organized by the EIT RawMaterials Regional Center Greece, aiming to bring together major agents from the industrial, business and academic communities in the Raw Materials industry, in order to develop innovative ideas in this industry.

The company was represented by George Mavraganis, Strategic Planning & Sustainability Senior Manager, ElvalHalcor's Copper and Alloy Extrusion Division, participating in the session "Decarbonisation of the Raw Materials Industry", which examined the major reforms that the raw materials processing industry is undergoing on its way towards climate neutrality, as well as its contribution to the green transition. During his speech, George Mavraganis focused on the challenges that the metal industry is called to address in order to achieve sustainable development, the requirements of the European legal policy for the industry, as well as how important aluminium and copper -two 100% recyclable materials- are for reducing the carbon footprint and the circular economy.

To this effect, G. Mavraganis mentioned: "The metal industry has reached a milestone, where both the market trends as well as the new European regulatory rules lead the industry towards a new operational framework, where the limelight falls on reducing the carbon footprint. ElvalHalcor is committed to sustainable development by leveraging the unique properties of aluminium and copper. We are dedicated to creating advanced products for various industrial applications, including packaging, electrification, construction, and energy-efficient building upgrades."
