Commercial Bank of Dubai Partners with Dubai Police to Offer Easy Payment of Fines

Cardholders of the Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) can now pay their traffic fines in instalments with zero interest rates, as the Dubai Police recently signed a partnership with the bank.

Fines for traffic violations can now be paid in three, six, nine, or 12 months, with a minimum amount of Dh500.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Brigadier-General Saif bin Abed, director-general of finance at the Dubai Police, and Bernd van Linder, CEO of CBD, in the presence of other officials.

The initiative, according to the Dubai Police, is part of their strategy to open up new, more convenient ways to facilitate customers' transactions.

'This agreement falls in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform Dubai into a smart city with a smart government that will bring happiness and satisfaction to its residents,' Brig-Gen Bin Abed said.

Dr. Bernd van Linder of CBD said: 'In line with the government of Dubai's vision to raise the level of happiness among the emirate's population, we are proud to partner with Dubai Police to provide credit facilities to our cardholders. Partnership and cooperation between government agencies and the private sector is necessary to help Dubai achieve its goals.'
