Centene Corporation announced it has named its chief digital officer to the position of chief customer experience officer. Anika Gardenhire, who joined the Clayton-based managed health care giant in 2020, will work across the corporation to "ensure the voices of Centene's customers are heard throughout all enterprise decision-making processes," according to a statement. Gardenhire served since April 2022 as chief digital officer, responsible for leading the digital solutions and products organization.

Previously, she was Centene's regional vice president of digital and clinical systems from September 2021 to May 2022, working with clinical and business leaders to streamline how the company allocates resources, achieves goals and operates more efficiently. Before joining Centene, she served as assistant vice president of digital transformation for Intermountain Healthcare; a manager with Deloitte Consulting, and senior manager-clinical transformation with Leidos Health, according to her LinkedIn page. Gardenhire graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of South Carolina-Columbia in 2005 and a master's degree in management and clinical informatics in 2015 from Duke University.
