Barry Callebaut announces the official launch of the FFI (Future Farming Initiative) investment company, with the ambition of 'creating a fully scalable, profitable and sustainable cocoa farming model' for the sector.

Steven Retzlaff, currently President of Global Cocoa, will assume the role of Executive Chairman with immediate effect. FFI will initially be 100% owned by Barry Callebaut, but will also develop technological and R&D capabilities.

The Swiss chocolate maker intends FFI to be a 'catalyst for others to invest in agriculture and partner with farmers to modernize large-scale sustainable cocoa farming'.
