Senior Executive Vice President Taryn Salmon has been promoted to vice chair and chief information & operations officer at Bank of Hawaii. In her newly expanded role, Salmon will oversee Enterprise Operations, Information Technology, Strategic Data & Analytics, Information Security, Enterprise Operational Excellence, Digital Banking, Business Continuity, and the bank's Enterprise Project Management Office.

Salmon joined the bank in 2019 as executive vice president and director of business service management and was promoted to senior executive vice president and chief information officer in 2020, becoming a member of the bank's executive committee that same year. With over 25 years of experience, Salmon has proven to be invaluable to the bank's technology organization.

Salmon came to Bank of Hawaii with a diverse background-from aerospace to banking. She held several top leadership roles in business technology, digital banking, fraud engineering, architecture & planning, application development and project management at Zions Bancorporation, as well as serving as senior executive director of technology for Orbital ATK Propulsion Systems.

Salmon earned her bachelor of science degree in business information systems, with an emphasis in computer science, from Utah State University and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). She currently serves on the board of Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii (RCUH) and the board of Girl Scouts of Hawaii, and has served as a volunteer-instructor for STEM Hour of Code for many years sharing her passion for science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
