American Express on Tuesday appointed deputy finance chief Christophe Le Caillec as its new chief financial officer, effective Aug. 14.

The New York-based credit card company said Le Caillec, 57, has served as deputy CFO since 2021 and head of corporate planning since 2019. He previously served as Business CFO for the company's Global Consumer Services Group from 2016 to 2019. He has worked at the company for over 25 years.

American Express said its current finance chief, Jeffrey Campbell, would retire after 10 years at the company. Campbell was previously CFO of medical supplier McKesson and American Airlines. American Express said Campbell would stay with the company as a vice chairman until March 2024.

The company didn't immediately disclose Le Caillec's compensation, which in fiscal 2022 was $14.8 million.
