The Commerce Department reports US durable goods orders up 2.6% last month on the previous month, following a sequential rise of 0.7% in February (revised from an initial estimate of 1.4%).

However, excluding the usually erratic transportation sector, where orders climbed by 7.7% month-on-month, US durable goods orders rose by just 0.2% in March.
