* Investors awaited the 10 a.m. release of ISM manufacturing data, in which the main index is expected to fall to 35.5, staying below the level indicating contraction.

* Obama is due to meet leaders in Congress on Monday to discuss his stimulus plan. Some Republicans are worried that their Democratic rivals could push for the total costs to rise to as high as $1 trillion.

* The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 26.77 points, or 0.31 percent, at 8,803.16. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 1.69 points, or 0.19 percent, at 904.94. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was up 1.04 points, or 0.07 percent, at 1,578.07.
