Mr. Powter joined Brookfield Soundvest in 2004 after working for three years with Salomon Smith Barneys Investment Banking division in London, England where he was involved in mergers, acquisitions, business valuations and financings.
While at Salomon Smith Barney, Mr. Powter completed a rotation in Hong Kong, where he was involved in financings for clients throughout southeast Asia.
Prior to joining Salomon Smith Barney, Mr. Powter worked for three years with RBC Dominion Securities Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Finance groups.
Mr. Powter earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance from Bishops University in 1996, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
