Dr. Loest has a Ph.D.
in biology, is a Financial Analyst Charterholder (CFA), and a former Naval Officer.
He has managed money for institutions and individuals since 1987, and writes the weekly Diary of a Portfolio Manager, designed to keep investors current on what IPS Advisory is buying or selling and why.
He has appeared as a regular or occasional guest on many financial shows, including CNBC's Market Week with Maria Bartiromo and Wall $treet Week with Louis Rukeyser.
He joined Integrity Mutual Funds, Inc. in February 2007.
Dr. Loest received his B.A.
degree in 1966 from the University of Tennessee, and his Ph.D.
in biology from Florida State University, where he taught as an assistant and did research until 1977.
He served as a US Navy officer from 1967 - 1972.
He received his Financial Analyst Charter (CFA designation) in 1992, is a member of the Association for Investment Management & Research (AIMR), and a Regular Member, Founder, & Director for the Knoxville Chapter of Financial Analysts.
In addition, he teaches seminars in securities analysis for The University of Tennessee Community Programs.
