Prior to joining GCA, Mr. Madding worked at RBC Capital Markets in San Francisco and was a Managing Director and Head of the Financial Institutions Group.
His primary responsibilities were managing the group, advising clients on mergers, acquisitions and capital raising, and assisting the parent company, Royal Bank of Canada, in its acquisition strategy.
Prior to joining RBC Capital Markets he was a Managing Director, Co-Head of Financial Institutions Group, Member of the Executive, Management and Commitment Committees at Van Kasper and Company (presently Wells Fargo Investments LLC).
From 1991 to 1997 he was a partner and co-head of Investment Banking at Hoefer and Arnett, Inc., a privately held boutique investment bank specializing in small to mid cap financial services companies.
Before joining Hoefer & Arnett, he was a Vice President in the Financial Institutions Group at Salomon Brothers in New York and San Francisco focusing on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising for mid to large cap financial institutions.
During his investment banking career he has worked on more than 100 merger and acquisition assignments representing in excess of $100 billion in assets and $5 billion in consideration paid and raised over $2.5 billion in capital and other funds.
Mr. Madding received his MBA from Columbia University in Finance and Accounting and a BA from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn.
He was a NASD Registered Principal holding Series 7, 24 & 63 licenses.
