Dr. Andrew Watt is a Head of Unit at Hans Böckler Stiftung.
Since August 2012, he is the head of the Macroeconomic Policy Institute (IMK) Department of the Hans-Böckler Foundation, responsible for the operative management of the Institute.
He is also a consultant and advisor to numerous bodies including the European Commission, European Economic, and Social Council, Party of European Socialists, Foundation for European Progressive Studies, Member of the Economic Policy Advisory Council to the Chairman of the German SPD.
From 1990-2000 he was responsible for English language publications at the Deutsches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (DIW) and the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung (WZB).
From 2000-2012, he was a senior researcher at the European Trade Union Institute (Étui) in Brussels, latterly coordinator of the research unit 'Economic, social and employment policies' and as Chief economist of the research institute of the European trade union movement responsible for analyzing European economic and employment policies and for comparative European socio-economic research.
