O Canada!

Who stands on guard for thee?

There was a time when:

• Canadians had pride in their past and confidence in their future
• Canadian productivity ranked among the highest in the developed world
• Canadian economic growth was a given
• Canada was seen as an attractive investment destination
• Canada was a powerhouse in finance, entrepreneurship, energy, minerals and manufacturing
• Young Canadians could realize their greatest potential within Canada
• Canadians accepted their taxes were reasonable and wisely spent
• Canadians felt safe on the streets
• Canadians believed their governments listened to them
• Governments did not impose their vision or views on Canadians
• Canada's voice was listened to and respected around the world

This is not the case today and all levels of government share responsibility for the above.

The late Prime Minister Brian Mulroney used the phrase "look after Canada first". I am asking our elected politicians and political parties to do the same and not focus on their own narrow political interests and agendas.

This is now critical.
