Terna : included in the Euronext indices by the Vigeo Eiris rating agency

The Vigeo Eiris rating agency has announced the list of companies included in the Euronext indices for the December 2018 - May 2019 period, and Terna, the company that operates the national electricity grid, has been included.

The Euronext indices, which Terna has appeared in right from the start, were first published in 2012 and consider listed companies in the North American, Asian and European markets.

Terna has confirmed its presence in the Euronext Vigeo 120 World index which includes the 120 best companies in North-America, Europe and Asia for ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) performance; and in the Euronext Vigeo 120 Europe and Euronext Vigeo Eurozone indices which include the 120 best European and Eurozone companies, respectively.

This triple recognition by Vigeo Eiris is further confirmation of Terna's ability to incorporate sustainability objectives into its business strategy and to complement financial performance with best practices in governance and excellent results in the environmental and social areas.

The methods applied by the Vigeo Eiris agency involve analysis and evaluation of over 300 indicators relative to 38 assessment criteria, divided into 6 subject areas: Environment, Corporate Governance, Human Rights, Human Resources, Business Conduct and Involvement in the Community.

In addition to inclusion in the Euronext indices (World, Europe and Eurozone), Terna is also present in the following international sustainability indices: Dow Jones Sustainability (World and Europe), FTSE4Good (Global and Europe), STOXX® ESG (Global, Environmental, Social and Governance), STOXX® Low Carbon, ECPI, ESI (Ethibel Sustainability Index), MSCI, United Nations Global Compact ('GC100').
