Telefonica has announced the appointment of three new directors for its Wayra startup accelerators in the UK, Germany and Barcelona. In a statement, the company said the new managers Bruno Moraes, Florian Bogenschutz and Marta Antunez have a successful track record as entrepreneurs and will be tasked with coordinating investments in startups in line with the company's new strategic focus. The new director of Wayra UK, Bruno Moraes, has more than 12 years of experience as an entrepreneur and almost 10 years as a consultant in telecommunications for markets in Europe and Latin America. Previously he co-founded and was COO of Beegol, a startup that uses machine learning to help telecommunications companies improve their broadband and Wi-Fi services, and was an associate director at McKinsey. Florian Bogenschutz, the new Wayra Germany director, was the founder and CEO of Airgreets, a startup focused on home-sharing services, and worked as a consultant for Deutsche Telekom. Finally, new Barcelona hub director Marta Antunez is a serial entrepreneur who co-founded and worked as CEO of dress2b, a fashion sector start-up, and ChicPlace, a marketplace sold to e-shop Ventures in 2016.
