Starrag merges two business units

Rorschacherberg, 5 June 2023 - Starrag Group has decided to merge its former Business Units High Performance Systems (HPS) and Horizontal Machining Systems (HMS) into the new Business Unit High Performance Machining Systems (HPMS).

This organisational change strengthens the core business of horizontal machining centres at the locations in Rorschacherberg and Chemnitz. The uniform management and the associated more intensive cooperation in all operational areas will result in cross-site synergies. The Heckert and Starrag brands, which are well established on the market, will remain unchanged.

The head of the new Business Unit HPMS will be Christian Kurtenbach, who has been the head of the Business Unit HPS since 1 February 2023. The organisational adjustment will also lead to a streamlining of the Executive Board. The head of Group Operations will no longer be directly represented in it in future.

The former Head of the Business Unit HMS and of Group Operations, Dr. Stefan Breu, has decided to take up new professional challenges outside the Starrag Group. The Board of Directors and the Executive Board of Starrag Group would like to thank Dr. Breu for his great commitment to the company over the past years and wish him all the best in his new challenges.
