Born in Pavia, Italy, on June 9, 1978, Samuele Mazzini started SMRE Engineering at age 21, even before finishing his studies in Mechanical Engineering. The company's mission was to design, develop and construct custom machinery and robotic equipment for industrial applications. As a designer and builder of industrial machines he obtained numerous patents and publications that were the fruit of his research and development work. Almost 20 years ahead of his time, convinced that the future of mobility would be electric, he started the development of a powertrain for electric and hybrid vehicles in 2000. In 2008 he set up the e-mobility unit of SMRE, which then became IET SpA: a company fully dedicated to the design and production of components for electric vehicles. In 2017, certain that the future of e-mobility would be dominated by hi-tech services to support the vehicles, he integrated the e-mobility unit with a telematics & connectivity branch by purchasing the Sistematica Group, thus creating one of the world's most advanced technology centers in the world of the mobility of the future. Today, the SMRE Group consists of four major business units and employs approximately 300 highly specialized technicians and engineers.
