Waterloo, ON; February 2, 2015 - Sandvine, (TSX:SVC) a leading provider of intelligent broadband network solutions for fixed and mobile operators, today announced that it has been named market leader by ABI Research in its competitive assessment of "DPI and Traffic Management" for the mobile market.

ABI Research conducted a comprehensive competitive assessment focused on vendors who provide key elements of a mobile operator's Gi-LAN, which includes DPI technology, Policy and Charging Enforcement Function (PCEF), and Traffic Detection Function (TDF). The report research examined implementation breadth and innovative depth from multiple vendors and for the second report in a row Sandvine was awarded top ranking.

One key Sandvine differentiator recognized in the report is the 100GE Policy Traffic Switch (PTS) 32000, which offers an efficient 2 rack unit (RU) form factor and provides the best performance density and power efficiency of any network policy control device. The PTS 32000's small form factor, 10GE, 40GE and 100GE link options, and clustering capabilities makes it well suited for distributed and centralized deployments in networks of any size. By contrast, other announced 100GE chassis based solutions are seven-times the size (14RU), consume significantly more power and offer fewer deployment options for operators.

"The PTS 32000 is the leader in performance efficiency among 100GE-capable DPI solutions", said Joe Hoffman, Practice Director, ABI Research. "Sandvine is the only vendor who integrates TDF, PCRF, and PCEF functionality in a single solution. This differentiator gives mobile operators who choose Sandvine the ability to deploy an end-to-end policy control solution that can rapidly deploy new service offerings without the need for complex integration among multiple vendors."
