Safran: Air Arabia orders 240 CFM LEAP-1A engines
The agreement, which was signed at the Dubai Airshow 2023, includes a multi-year service contract and spare engines.
The LEAP-1A engines will power Air Arabia's fleet of 120 A320neo Family aircraft, comprising 73 A320neo, 27 A321neo and 20 A321XLR, scheduled for delivery in 2025.
Air Arabia became a CFM customer in 2003, when it launched operations with a CFM56-5B-powered Airbus A320. The airline currently operates a fleet of 71 A320ceo and A321neo-LR aircraft.
' This engine order marks an important milestone in Air Arabia's journey of growth and progress ' said Adel Al Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia Group.
' The efficiency and performance of CFM engines will play a crucial role in our fleet expansion strategy, which aims in particular to optimize our fuel consumption and minimize our environmental footprint. '
