Raspadskaya Coal Company (RCC) has presented its latest environmental protection developments at the Ecoforum. The Grand Prix for the best exhibit was awarded to the complex of innovative modeling of highly efficient dust suppression processes in coal storages. Another exhibit - 3D model of the Raspadsky surface mine's ecological polygon - was awarded a gold medal of the EcoForum. The exhibition stand of Raspadskaya Coal Company was also awarded with a diploma.

The unique 4 hectare ecological polygon at the Raspadsky surface mine near Mezhdurechensk will help speed up the restoration of the ecosystem and minimize the environmental impact of open-pit coal mining. Environmentalists will plant birch, aspen, bird cherry, mountain ash, larch, fir, pine, and other species of trees and plants from the Siberian taiga.

At the exhibition stand the coal miners also presented models of the company's environmental projects which will be realized in 2021 by the 300th anniversary of Kuzbass. These are methane flaring units and modernized treatment facilities operating today at the Alardinskaya and Raspadskaya mines.

With the help of a VR helmet and monitor, those who wished were also able to take a virtual tour of the Alardinskaya mine. This development called "Virtual demonstration of technological processes with exposition of 3D model of Alardinskoye degassing methane utilization and mine water treatment" took the main prize for the best exhibit at the eco-forum last autumn.

On the opening day, Maxim Korolkov, head of the project office of the federal project "Clean Air" of the Ministry of Natural Resources, and Andrey Panov, deputy governor of Kuzbass for industry, transport and environment, got acquainted with the environmental developments of RUK. The guests praised Raspadskaya's environmental projects.

Raspadskaya Coal Company is a regular participant in the "Clean Air" project. As part of the work under the national project "Ecology", the enrichers of the Abashevskaya and Kuznetskaya concentrators reduce emissions into the atmosphere by modernizing their production in accordance with the agreed timeframes.
