Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant Announces 1.4% Production Increase in 2015


Chelyabinsk, Russia - January 29, 2016 - Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant (LSE, MICEX-RTS: CHZN), Russia's largest producer of zinc and zinc alloys, is pleased to announce its production results for the twelve months ended December 31, 2015.


Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant (CZP) produced 171,002 tonnes of salable SHG zinc and zinc based alloys in 2015, an increase of 1.4% as compared to 2014 (168,601 tonnes). 59.7% of metal was supplied to the domestic market (in 2014 - 54.9%).


CZP's affiliated company, Nova Zinc LLC, operator of Akzhal zinc and lead ore mine in Kazakhstan, produced 36,770 tonnes of zinc in zinc concentrate in 2015, an increase of 1.7% as compared to 2014 (36,150 tonnes). Lead in lead concentrate production increased by 2.3% to 5,655 tonnes (vs. 5,528 tonnes in 2014).


CZP's subsidiary, The Brock Metal Company Limited (the leading UK supplier of zinc die- casting alloys) sold 36,398 tonnes of zinc alloys in 2015, an increase by 12.1% as compared to 2014 (32,460 tonnes).
