Metallurgical of China : Chen Jianguang Attends the Symposium with the Representatives of Young Officials of MCC Subsidiaries in Wuhan and Puts Forward Earnest Hopes

　　On the afternoon of July 7, Chen Jianguang, Deputy General Manager and Member of the Party Leadership Group of China Minmetals, Secretary of the Party Committee of MCC and Chairman of MCC, attended the symposium with the representatives of young officials of MCC subsidiaries in Wuhan, and had in-depth exchanges with young officials from WISDRI Engineering & Research Incorporation Ltd. (WISDRI), Wuhan Surveying Geotechnical Research Institute Co., Ltd. (WSGRI) and China First Metallurgical Group Co., Ltd. on the future reform and development of the enterprises in Wuhan. He expressed his gratitude to them for their contributions to the development of the companies and put forward earnest hopes from three aspects: "practice for virtue", "practice for ability" and "practice for health".

　　Chen Jianguang pointed out that "practice for virtue" is to continuously improve the Party spirit, keep the bottom line of professional ethics, and abide by social morality; "practice for ability" means to strengthen the way we build up our capacities, and improve our ability to solve problems and pay close attention to implementation; "practice for health" means focusing on physical and mental health and striking a balance between work and life. How to practice for virtue, ability, and health? First, we should improve our political ability and effectively hold the political bottom line. Party members and officials should enhance consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment with the central Party leadership, be confident in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, resolutely uphold General Secretary Xi Jinping's core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and resolutely uphold the Party Central Committee's authority and its centralized, and guard the establishment of Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and the establishment of the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. In addition, we need to effectively unify their thoughts and actions into the major decisions and deployments, political guidelines, lines and policies of the Party Central Committee, be good at looking at problems politically, grasp the overall political situation, and continuously improve political judgment, understanding and execution. Second, we should improve our professional ability and earnestly hold the professional bottom line. Improving professional competence is the basis for holding the professional bottom line. We should concentrate on their daily work, enrich and broaden their professional knowledge, constantly improve their working ability and summarize their working experience in practice, so as to learn as we go along. We should actively participate in the development of grassroots frontline and take it as the best stage to refine ability and improve skills. Moreover, we need to stick to their original aspirations and missions in the integration of knowledge and practice, temper their will while dealing with difficulties, and accumulate experience in tests. Third, we should improve self-discipline and earnestly hold the bottom line of integrity. Holding the bottom line of integrity is not only a basic requirement, but also a symbol of accountability for Party members and officials. We should strictly abide by the anti-corruption regulations formulated by the Party, consciously resist all kinds of bad styles and temptations, implement strict enforcement of orders and prohibitions, and be cautious and prudent. We should earnestly practice the Party building of "one post, two duties", always maintain a clean and honest work style, not waver and carry out their duties but remain true to their conviction.

　　Chen Jianguang stressed that to achieve the strategic positioning of "becoming the world-class national team of metallurgical construction, the main force and pioneer of capital construction, the leader of emerging industries, and the long-term adherence to the road of high-tech and high-quality innovation and development" and the higher-quality development goal of "re-upgrading and re-transformation", more young officials with real ability are required to serve at all leading positions of the company. He hoped that all young officials could guard against arrogance and impetuousness, make contributions based on their posts, dare to take responsibility, do good deeds, and strive to be pillar talents. Moreover, we need to make new contributions to promoting the high-quality development of MCC.
