Manila Electric Company Announces Executive Changes

Manila Electric Company announced that Mr. Ferdinand O. Geluz, First Vice President of the Company, is designated as Officer in Charge of Customer Retail Services effective August 5, 2020 in lieu of the resignation of Mr. Victor Emmanuel S. Genuino. Mr. Geluz and Mr. Genuino will work closely for the transition and turn-over this August. Mr. Geluz is a member of the Management Committee. He has 20 years of work experience with Networks. He rose from the ranks starting out as an electrical engineer in Testing and Inspection, eventually taking on leadership roles as System Analysis Head, Sector Head and Area Head. He then spent over 7 years in Customer Retail Services managing several business center areas. Prior to his designation as OIC of CRS, Mr. Geluz was the Head of Supply Chain and Logistics Management. With the above designation of Mr. Geluz, the following movements will also take effect: The former Logistic Management team (Supply Chain and Logistics Management under Mr. Geluz), will be reorganized as Facilities, Security and General Services and will be headed by Mr. Benjamin Cusi (formerly Vice President and Head, Network Asset Management); and Maria Luisa V. Alvendia, First Vice President and Chief of Staff, will be the OIC for Supply Chain Management.
Manila Electric Co. is an electric distribution utility company in the Philippines covering 39 cities and 72 municipalities. The Company operates through two segments: Power and Other Services. The Power segment consists of electricity distribution, power generation and rental electricity services (RES). Electricity distribution includes electricity distribution and supply of power on a pass-through basis covering all captive customers in the MERALCO and the Clark Electric franchise areas in Luzon. The other services segment is involved principally in electricity-related services, such as, electro-mechanical engineering, construction, consulting and related manpower services, e-transaction and bills collection, telecommunications services, rail-related operations and maintenance services, insurance and re-insurance, e-business development, power distribution management, energy systems management and harnessing renewable energy, construction, and leasing of communication towers.
