Autonomy and AI: Sikorsky's 21st Century Security Advancements
March 26, 2024
For more than 100 years, Sikorsky has been at the forefront of innovation and continues to do so by reimagining aviation for the military of the future. From the 1LMX digital transformation in Sikorsky's manufacturing facilities in Stratford, Connecticut, to incredible innovations in next-generation vertical lift capabilities - Sikorsky is the backbone of the U.S. rotary wing industrial base.
The Black Hawk® helicopter, one of the most sought-after aircrafts in military fleets today, has been in service for over 40 years and counting. Now, our MATRIX™ technology is bringing autonomy to the Black Hawk helicopter, enabling a diverse set of missions to be performed with safety and reliability. The system can be incorporated on any type of aircraft - fixed wing or rotary wing.
This Optionally Piloted Vehicle not only allows operators to focus on the mission, but also is one of the ways that Sikorsky is advancing new modernization opportunities that will keep the Black Hawk helicopter powerful, ready, and relevant for decades to come.
