20th September 2012, London: Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc ("JLT"), the international group of risk specialists and employee benefits consultants, today announces that Duncan Howorth has been appointed CEO of JLT Asia with effect from 1st January 2013.  Duncan's responsibilities in Asia will span Risk and Insurance as well as Employee Benefits.  He will remain International Chairman of Employee Benefits and will continue to sit on the Group Executive Committee.

Duncan replaces Warren Merritt, who is leaving JLT to pursue other opportunities.  Anthony Langridge, Executive Chairman of JLT Asia, will assume Warren's responsibilities until Duncan takes the role of CEO JLT Asia in January 2013.

Mark Wood is replacing Duncan as CEO of JLT Benefit Solutions with effect from 1st January 2013.  He will sit on JLT's Group Executive Committee.  As non-executive Chairman of JLT Benefit Solutions for the last two years, Mark has developed a strong understanding of JLT's strategy in employee benefits and will lead the existing management team in its execution.

Dominic Burke, Group Chief Executive, said:

"I am delighted to announce these appointments. They reflect our focus on two of our core strategic objectives - growing in specialist areas and building JLT's international reach and relevance.

"Duncan is an excellent addition to our team in Asia and will support JLT in growing its presence in this key, high growth market.  Mark will help oversee the continued expansion of the Employee Benefits business in the UK and Ireland and will bring a wealth of experience to his new role.

"On behalf of the group, I would like to thank Warren Merritt for his contribution to JLT during a key period in the Asian market's development.  We wish him all the best for the future."

Anthony Langridge, Executive Chairman of JLT Asia, said:

"Asia has seen strong growth in the past couple of years but the future looks brighter still.  I look forward to working closely with Duncan, who already has a strong understanding of the Asian market."
