SIC IS THE MOST WATCHED CHANNEL IN PORTUGAL AND SIC NOTÍCIAS RISES IN OCTOBER

  • SIC completes 57 consecutive months of leadership;
  • In October, SIC is the most watched channel in Portuguese television, with a share of 14.9%, against TVI's 14.6% and RTP1's 10.8%, rising in comparison to September;
  • In October, 3 million 880 thousand viewers have contacted with SIC daily;
  • The XXVII Golden Globes Gala was the most watched entertainment program on Portuguese television in October, and Jornal da Noite was the most watched news program of the month;
  • Jornal da Noite and its items, such as Opinião de Marques Mendes, Guerra Fria, Polígrafo SIC, Grande Reportagem and Reportagem Especial ended the month leading, as did Primeiro Jornal;
  • In October, SIC once again led in daytime and rose compared to the previous month;
  • SIC's leadership has been extended, once again, to the commercial targets - A/B C D 15/54 and A/B C D 25/54 - that ended the month rising in comparison to September;
  • SIC's thematic channels (SIC Notícias, SIC Mulher, SIC Radical, SIC Caras and SIC K) ended October with a 4.0% share, up 0.3 p.p. on September and 0.6 p.p. on October 2022;
  • In the month of SIC Notícias' relaunch, the channel ended the month with a 2.3% share, up on both the previous month and October 2022;
  • Also noteworthy was SIC Caras, which ended the month with a 0.4% share, the channel's best result ever.

IMPRESA's station completes 57 consecutive months of leadership and ends the month leading with a share of 14.9%, against TVI's 14.6% and RTP1's 10.8%, up compared to September.

In October, Jornal da Noite was, once again, Portuguese television's most-watched news program, ending up leading the generalist channel universe.

Once again, the good performance of the headlines throughout the week, such as Opinião de Marques Mendes, Guerra Fria, Polígrafo SIC, Grande Reportagem and Reportagem Especial, contributed to the lead. Also noteworthy was Vistos para a Vida, which debuted in October and ended up leading the generalist channels. Primeiro Jornal, once again ended the month systematically leading from Monday to Sunday.

In prime time (between 8pm and midnight), SIC ended October with a 16.5% share. Highlights included the XXVII Golden Globes Gala, which was the most watched entertainment program of the month, Isto é Gozar com Quem Trabalha, on Sunday prime time, which ended the month in the lead, and Terra Nossa, on Saturday prime time, which also ended October in the lead.

In October, SIC once again led in daytime and was up on September. In the morning time slot (between 8am and 2pm), SIC ended October leading with a 15.9% share and the Casa Feliz program was the leader in weekday mornings. In the afternoon time slot (between 2pm and 8pm), SIC also ended the month leading with a 14.4% share.

SIC's Thematic Channels

SIC's thematic channels (SIC Notícias, SIC Mulher, SIC Radical, SIC Caras and SIC

  1. ended October with a 4.0% share, up 0.3 p.p. on September and 0.6 p.p. on October 2022.
    In the month of SIC Notícias' relaunch, the channel ended the month with a 2.3% share, up on both the previous month and October 2022.
    SIC Notícias continues to be the leading information channel in the target group made up of the upper classes and the most active audience (ABC 25/64). In October it led with a 3.7% share, up 0.4 p.p. on September and 0.6 p.p. on October 2022.
    Also noteworthy was SIC Caras, which ended the month with a 0.4% share, the channel's best result ever.
