IMC has completed the harvesting of sunflower and the autumn sowing

campaign 2021

Sunflower was harvested from an area of 25.7 thousand hectares, harvest amounted to 91 thousand tonnes, yield - 3.52 t/ha, which is the second best result in the history of the company, and 52% higher than the average yield of sunflower in Ukraine this year (2.31 t/ha as of October 18, 2021 according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine).

Also during the second half of September - the first half of October, winter wheat was sown on an area of 18.4 thousand hectares.

"This year, IMC started the active phase of autumn field work two weeks later than previously scheduled, which was caused by heavy rainfall in the second half of September, which took place in all regions where the company operates. On the one hand, this had a positive effect on the accumulation of productive moisture in the upper layer of the soil, but at the same time we were not able to fully go into harvesting and sowing for a long time. Nevertheless, proper equipment and proper organization of production processes made it possible to perform the planned field operations for harvesting of sunflower and sowing of winter crops in the near optimal time",- said Oleksandr Verzhykhovskyi, Chief Operating Officer of IMC.
