CHICAGO (AP) _ Hill-Rom Holdings Inc. (HRC) on Friday reported fiscal fourth-quarter profit of $53.4 million.

On a per-share basis, the Chicago-based company said it had net income of 80 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.67 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.47 per share.

The medical equipment maker posted revenue of $797.9 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $248.5 million, or $3.72 per share. Revenue was reported as $3.02 billion.
