Gartner, Inc. reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2023. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was USD 57.2 million compared to USD 77.03 million a year ago. Revenue was USD 1,408.78 million compared to USD 1,331.87 million a year ago. Net income was USD 180.01 million compared to USD 173.55 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 2.28 compared to USD 2.19 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 2.26 compared to USD 2.17 a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was USD 290.74 million compared to USD 200.91 million a year ago. Revenue was USD 4,320.84 million compared to USD 3,971.13 million a year ago. Net income was USD 673.84 million compared to USD 550.99 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 8.51 compared to USD 6.84 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 8.44 compared to USD 6.77 a year ago.
Gartner, Inc. specializes in analysis and consulting services in IT and communication technologies. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- research and analysis services (82.7%): conducting analyzes, market assessment, and publication of research to help clients gain market visibility and select suppliers of products or services best suited to their needs;
- consulting services (8.7%): consulting services in the selection and implementation of IT projects, digital marketing strategy, development and realization of information systems architectures, digital transformation projects, etc.;
- organization of congresses, conferences and exhibitions (8.6%).
At the end of 2023, the group had around 2,500 analysts and 950 consultants around the world.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: the United States and Canada (66.2%), Europe/Middle East/Africa (22.6%) and other (11.2%).
