FORTIS GROUP

• The Fortis Health Group adopted this Nobel initiative almost three years back.

• As of now, 19 facilities (3 facilities recently joined in on 6th Jan 2012) of the Health group observe
Nanhi Chhaan initiative almost on daily basis.

• Under the aegis of this initiative, all facilities gift a sapling to the parents of newly born girl child in the

hospital , conveying the message of, Stopping the female infanticide / foeticide and encouraging
tree plantation in order to check the deforestation in the country and there by increase the TREE
cover.

• These saplings are also gifted/distributed to the elderly female patients who recover from their ailment, and get discharged from the hospital.

• Saplings are further gifted to the newly wed brides, entering the house hold of certain families living in the vicinity of the respective Hospitals (RWAs). The initiative is also combined by a few facilities, with holding of free medical camps for females and Girl Children & donation of clothes/ medicines.

• A monthly Nanhi Chhaan report is complied in respect of all the facilities giving out details of How the initiative has been taken forward by them.

• It was decided towards mid 2010, that the Health group will celebrate 6th January of every year as the Nanhi Chhaan Day in order to draw the attention of one and all that this initiative is required to be taken on a sincere, serious and dedicated note, in order to save the Girl Child, save the Environment, thus save the Humanity.

• Till today the Fortis Health Group have planted/gifted approx. 25000 saplings .
