(MT Newswires) -- Ericsson CEO Börje Ekholm reports a 50% drop in the company's North American business in 2023, offset by strong growth in India where sales have increased by 62%. With sales expected to fall in 2024, the company is looking to cut costs and focus on its Multimedia Equipment segment. Ekholm points out that improved customer experience and the digitisation of businesses will stimulate investment in telecoms networks. He also mentions the impact of Open RAN technology, which, despite increased competition, should foster innovation. Finally, he envisages that connectivity will become a transversal technology, essential to many applications, which should transform network architecture and increase demand for network infrastructures.
