Financial results - revenues and profits

In the first nine months of 2009 Ekornes generated gross operating
revenues of NOK 1,908.5 million, a drop of NOK 19.7 million or 1 per
cent compared with 2008. Calculated at fixed exchange rates
underlying operating revenues fell by 7.2 per cent.

The Group made a consolidated operating profit of NOK 334.2 million
(17.5 per cent) in the year to 30 September 2009, compared with NOK
313.0 million (16.2 per cent) in the corresponding period in 2008.
This represents an increase of 6.8 per cent.

Profit before tax totalled NOK 294.4 million (15.4 per cent),
compared with NOK 323.3 million (16.8 per cent) in 2008. This is a
reduction of NOK 8.9 per cent. Profits were negatively affected by a
NOK 38.5 million reduction in the recorded value of balance sheet
assets due to the strengthening of the NOK since the start of the
year. The corresponding figure for 2008 was an increase of NOK 11.2
million.

Profit after tax for the period totalled NOK 204.6 million, compared
with NOK 224.6 million in 2008, which results in earnings per share
of NOK 5.56, compared with NOK 6.10 last year.

Operating revenue in the third quarter 2009 totalled NOK 645.4
million, compared to NOK 624.3 million in the corresponding quarter
in 2008, an increase of 3.4 per cent. However, calculated at fixed
exchange rates operating revenues were down by 1.3 per cent.
Operating profit in the third quarter 2009 totalled NOK 146.5 million
(22.7 per cent), compared with NOK 106.3 million (17.0 per cent) in
the same quarter last year. Profit before tax totalled NOK 123.1
million (19.1 per cent), compared with NOK 121.4 million (19.4 per
cent) in the third quarter 2008. Profits in the third quarter were
negatively affected by a NOK 23.1 million reduction in the recorded
value of balance sheet assets due to the strengthening of the NOK
since the end of the second quarter. The corresponding figure for
2008 was an increase of NOK 18.1 million.

Order receipts

At the end of the first nine months of 2009 Ekornes had received
orders worth NOK 2,038 million, up 10.3 per cent on the same period
last year. Calculated at fixed exchange rates, however, order
receipts were down by 1 per cent. As at 30 September 2009 Ekornes had
an order reserve of NOK 315 million, compared with NOK 215 million at
the same point last year.

Order receipts in the third quarter 2009 totalled NOK 701 million,
compared with NOK 561 million in the same quarter in 2008.

Order receipts in October totalled NOK 284 million, compared with NOK
216 million in October 2008.
