THE DOLAN COMPANY APPOINTS MARK A. MCEACHEN AS ITS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (June 30, 2014) - The Dolan Company (the "Company") announced that Mark A. McEachen has been appointed as its new chief executive officer, effective today. McEachen, 56, brings an extensive body of leadership experience as an accomplished senior executive in media, information and entertainment companies.

"Mark's successful track record in the media and information industry makes him the right person to lead Dolan to new levels of success," said Sean Britain, a member of the board of directors and a Principal at Bayside Capital, Inc. "He is a proven leader who will build upon the Company's strong foundation." Investment funds advised by Bayside Capital hold a majority ownership position in the Company.

Most recently, McEachen served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Freedom Communications, Inc., a national information and media company. He began working for Freedom Communications in 2009. Before that position, McEachen served as chief financial officer of Fabrik, Inc., a designer, manufacturer and marketer of online services solutions; and prior to that, he was the interim chief executive officer and chief operating and financial officer of BridgeCo Inc., a digital entertainment networking company. He holds an MBA and Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from the University of Windsor, and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and History from the University of Western Ontario.
