FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Shares in Lanxess rose on Monday following a press report on the plastics business, making it one of the best performers in the MDax. The shares of the specialty chemicals company climbed by up to 3.7 percent and recently gained 1.7 percent to 26.40 euros. The mid-cap index fell by 1.1 percent at the same time.

Lanxess wants to withdraw completely from the plastics market and is therefore pushing ahead with the sale of its polyurethane business, wrote the "Handelsblatt" ('HB') in its online edition. Deutsche Bank is to find a buyer for the division. Lanxess and Deutsche Bank declined to comment, the paper continued./la/he
