FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Deutsche Bank will publish its results for the first three months of the current year this Thursday (7:00 a.m.). Analysts expect Germany's largest financial institution to have performed similarly well in the first quarter of 2024 as a year earlier. For the year as a whole, however, experts anticipate a further decline in profits for the Frankfurt-based DAX-listed group.

For the first quarter of 2024, analysts expect an average net profit of around 1.2 billion euros. That would be four percent more than a year earlier. Pre-tax profit is likely to have risen from 1.85 billion euros to just under 2 billion euros. The main reason for this is likely to be lower operating costs. However, the tailwind from the sharp rise in interest rates, from which Deutsche Bank, like other financial institutions, is benefiting, is likely to have diminished./ben/DP/ngu
