The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the creation of a joint venture between the two German companies EVO Payments International ('EVOG') and Commerzbank AG ('Commerzbank').

The transaction mainly concerns the provision of acquiring services to merchants in Germany.

The Commission concluded that the notified operation would not raise competition concerns, given that the joint venture has negligible activities in the European Economic Area.
