Kryvyi Rih, May 24, 2018, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has revised the decision on salary increase starting from May 1, 2018. The salary fund will be increased by 1.1 bln UAH this year.
The decision of Chief Executive Officer of PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Paramjit Kahlon, on increase of salary fund is the result of intense negotiations during May 21 and 22, that he conducted with Natalya Marynyuk, Head of authorized employee representative body.
The work group, created as part of reconciliation committee to resolve the collective labour dispute, will determine the rates of salary increase for various personnel categories from May 1, 2018. The focus will be on key professions of the company.
The parties agreed to return to the negations table regarding another revision of salary in October, if all blast furnaces will operate at their full capacity and production will recover in the nearest time. Until recently, the plant's facilities were operated at their half capacity, and there was downtime last week due to railmen protests.
Paramjit Kahlon, Chief Executive Officer, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih:
- As a result of the negations with the trade union, we have found the solution, which is acceptable for both sides. We are ready to increase the salary for main production professions under condition of stable operation and favorable situation on steel markets. Successful future of this plant is maintained by continuous investments in production facilities. Now we have to balance between planned salary increase and systematic investing in modernization, operational safety, modern technologies. With another revision of salary, we shall work even harder on production cost, stable operation and production volumes. I believe in our team of metallurgists and miners, and that we will overcome the recent hardship by coordinating all our efforts.
