Producers of metals and other raw materials slipped amid mixed earnings.
ArcelorMittal, the world's largest steelmaker by volume, reported a decline in earnings for the first three months of the year.
Shares of Aspen Aerogels soared after the maker of specialty materials for electric vehicles posted robust first-quarter revenue growth and said it now expected to turn a profit in 2024 as it boosted its sales projection for the year.
