Medicare has selected 10 additional drugs whose prices will be negotiated under the Inflation Reduction Act. Speaking from the White House, President Joe Biden declares that his historic foray into negotiating prices with Big Pharma such as Pfizer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Johnson & Johnson and other drug makers is just the beginning, pledging to go all the way despite fierce industry opposition. He points out that prices in the US are far higher than in other countries for the same drugs, and that just 10 drugs cost Medicare $50 billion a year.
