May 14 (Reuters) - Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank President Jeffrey Schmid on Tuesday said the theme of the annual Jackson Hole summit of global central bankers this coming August will be the transmission of monetary policy.

Despite chaos around the world and "tough" circumstances in some regions, global central bankers, including U.S. Fed policymakers, who gather at the annual event can help economies thrive, Schmid said. (Reporting by Ann Saphir; Editing by Tom Hogue)
