(MT Newswires) -- Federal Reserve Governor MichelleFed's Bowman: No immediate rate cut
Bowman, notes that new geopolitical risks could disrupt energy and food markets and supply chains. In particular, disruptions to commercial shipping lanes, such as those seen in the Red Sea.

Although some progress has been made, Bowman remains cautious about the remaining risks and believes it is too early to predict any changes in monetary policy. She notes the positive trend in inflation and suggests that a cut in the federal funds rate could be considered if this trend continues, but she does not foresee any cuts in the immediate future and does not wish to speculate on the Federal Reserve's decisions for the current year.

Bowman stresses the continuing economic uncertainty and the need to continue to monitor developments before making decisions on interest rates.
