A divorce certificate provides written proof that 2 people are no longer married to one another. This is recorded in the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages. You can request a copy of this certificate. This is usually a copy of the marriage certificate which states when the marriage was dissolved.

You can request a copy of this certificate in different ways:

Apply online

  • By sending an email to: akten@denhaag.nl, along with the Application form for dissolution of marriage certificate and a copy of your valid form of identification.
  • Written request with the Application form for dissolution of marriage certificate. A fully completed and signed form can be send to the Department of Public Service together with a copy of your valid form of identification.
