China is set to scrap punitive tariffs on Australian wine, as the trade relationship between the two countries warms up.

The Chinese commerce ministry announced the move on Thursday, saying that it will take effect Friday.

In an official notice, the ministry said that considering market changes in China, it's no longer necessary to impose anti-dumping and antisubsidy duties on wine imports from Australia.
