- POSCO has been listed on DJSI for the longest time among domestic companies
- POSCO received the highest marks in environmental aspects, e.g. water management and climate change

POSCO became the first steel maker in the world to be selected as a company recognized for its excellence in sustainability for 13 consecutive years by the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), a global sustainability benchmark, which was announced on September 7.

DJSI are indices jointly developed by S&P Dow Jones Indices, a provider of financial information in the United States, and RobecoSAM, a Swiss firm specializing in assessing global sustainable management. They are recognized as the world's most authoritative sustainability indices.

This year in the steel sector, POSCO was selected as an outstanding company in the global sustainable management indices (DJSI World) from among 23 companies. POSCO received the highest scores in environmental areas (water management and climate change), and excellent grades in shared growth, stakeholder management and sustainability reporting as well. As a result, POSCO was selected as an outstanding company in sustainability management for 13 years in a row, and earned the glowing reputation of becoming listed on DJSI for the longest time among domestic companies.

POSCO is planning to share the sustainability assessment results with related departments and further enhance the group's sustainability in talent recruitment and retention, tax policies, human rights and measurement of impact on the local community. Through this, we plan to spread social awareness about sustainability to various stakeholders including investors.

DJSI annually selects and announces the top 10% sustainability leaders in each sector from the world's leading 2,500 companies based on media research, corporate monitoring and surveys.

The assessment results are widely used by international institutional investors' SRI(socially responsible investments) and management of funds and financial instruments. Companies recognized as sustainability leaders can pre-empt business opportunities by fulfilling their corporate social and environmental responsibilities, and achieve stable growth and sustainable development by managing economic, environmental and social risks.
